SRS Heart Program
WOMEN’S PREVENTION, HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Since 1984, heart disease has been the number one killer of all women, more than all cancers combined. Yet only 13 percent of cardiologists nationwide are women. Fewer understand this important truth: Treating and preventing heart diseases in women needs a program designed with women in mind. SRSHeart is that program.
Our treatment plan
SRSHeart is focused on women’s preventive cardiovascular care, which is the foundation to overall wellness. With personalized strategies, SRSHeart’s lifestyle management recommendations include diet, exercise and encompasses her emotional needs and psychosocial issues. Whether you visit our office or via telemed appointments, our entire staff is focused on the prevention and detection of disease before you are seriously ill. We are focused on heart health, focusing on mitigating the risk factors of heart disease. Increasing your overall wellness.
Our testing:
We offer comprehensive and innovative testing that uses the best heart health metrics to craft a personalized treatment and prevention plan for each of our patients.
+ Extensive metabolic testing»
Extensive metabolic testing will be performed with the use of Boston Heart Lab blood testing, incorporating lipid analysis and metabolic information regarding production and absorption markers for cholesterol as well as genetic markers.
+ Inflammatory Markers and Endothelial Testing»
Inflammation is a critical piece of the development of cardiovascular disease. A simple blood test (PULS test) can assess not only inflammation, but provide markers that can guide us in the understanding and treatment in maintaining arterial health.
+ CPET»
The CPET is a stress test, used not only for diagnosis, but also for developing an exercise prescription. It is used sequentially to assess progress and to help monitor the progress of cardiovascular health. Peak VO2 is the most sensitive vital sign and should be routinely measured in clinical practice, like cholesterol and blood pressure.
+ Heart Rate Variability»
Heart Rate Variability: As a tool for monitoring the autonomic nervous system, heart rate variability is a marker of cardiovascular health and wellness. In fact, heart rate variability is a cutting-edge modality to help track well-being and the success of lifestyle interventions.
+ Autonomic testing»
Exercise and stress management are the cornerstones to treatment strategy, along with medical management. Autonomic testing also provides feedback to determine the efficacy of exercise to help our patients get more fit. This is determined through HRV testing.
+ Endothelial dysfunction»
Endothelial dysfunction: Vascular testing and the assessment of the artery’s ability to dilate will provide information regarding the health of the arteries, the precursor of heart disease.
+ Event monitoring»
Event monitoring is a tool that can help monitor the cardiac rate, rhythm and assess for symptoms. A blue-tooth wireless monitor that can monitor in real time will allow for better communication and easy access to data between the doctor and patient.
+ Remote patient monitoring»
Remote patient monitoring is an integral part of the program. This will help keep the patient engaged during the entire program. Blood pressure, heart rate and HRV can be done at home and communication is seamless.
+ Echocardiogram»
All patients will receive an echocardiogram at their baseline visit to assess for any primary cardiac issues, such as a cardiomyopathy, valvular disease or a pericardial disease.
+ EKG»
EKG: a baseline electrocardiogram will be done at baseline to assess the heart’s functioning and the conduction system.
